Walter Smith’s is a well-known butchers that was brought to Birmingham in 1875. Walter Smith took over the business from his father in 1914, with the Harborne location being one of its most popular. Before Harborne Kitchen was opened in 2016, this space was still a butcher’s shop, which is remembered by the large drawing of a cow on our restaurant wall. We are honoured to say the grandson of Walter Smith, John Smith, still dines here today.
